In a world where the climate is changing, how can existing hotel buildings be transformed to net zero carbon? What does it take to tackle the net zero carbon challenge and save millions in the process?

Gleeds have co-authored a research paper with Arup, IHG and Schneider Electric. We have used a real-life case study to demonstrate the impact of each stage in the journey and set out a high-level framework, prioritising different interventions throughout the lifecycle.

We recognise that we are at a seminal point and have a real chance to make the changes necessary to avert the climate crisis. We are proud to have contributed to this critical and timely research and are committed to supporting our clients in maximising the value of investments made on improving energy efficiency and value of their built assets and portfolios.

With 80% of 2050 building stock already existing today, we must prioritise decarbonising what we already have.
